To begin this blog with Como is entirely spontaneous.
I struggled a lot when I thought about the first thing I should do with this blog. There have been many ideas, things I want to write about.
I know it would be about me — films, news, food, travel, drawing — anything I like and am willing to pour my heart into, and am more than happy to share. Fond memories that, when I look back at this one and only first piece, no matter how badly I might write about it from my future self’s perspective, I could still smile at the prospect that “Ah, but this is still something I love entirely.”
This is when memories of Como stuck in my mind. Though random, it struck me as something that, after all this time, I could still smile at the thought of. Lake Como is one of the loveliest places I have been to and a place from one of my most favourite travel memories.
The journey was, however, not without troubles. My friend and I first arrived at Como, but decided to search for boat rides to other islands around the Lake to get a better view. The weather had also been bad for a while, but gladly it turned sunny.
This trip was the one where I took the most pictures out of all the trips I’ve had in my life, so much so that my phone storage became full near the end. Yet seeing these photos afterward was well worth it.
We took a boat ride and boarded on another island, the name of which I forgot (sorry). The shops there were all closed (we still do not know the reason to date, and from what I remember, that day was not a holiday). We took photos by the Lake, and I decided to just sit down and start drawing while my friend was resting. This is when the idea of Como in my eyes was born.
It has been a year, and it remains one of my fondest travel memories to this day. Those of you who are reading this may not share this feeling, and need not, as travel memories always hold personal value and significance depending on a context that is often beyond your control.
But, this first post of mine signifies what my blog is going to be about: things I love, things I have come across, and things I want to share and talk about. These are bits and pieces of my life that mostly bring me joy, make me think, or have become somewhat important to me.
I hope any of you who are reading this enjoy it and also have something that ignites your life, making you feel that those times and memories are always worth it and priceless, no matter what they are or could become.
On that note, thank you for reading!
